OSHA Form 300-A Posting Requirement
January 14, 2009
OSHA Form 300A, Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses, must be posted by nonexempt employers in the workplace by February 1, 2009 for the year 2008. The summary must remain posted until April 30.
Employers with 10 or fewer employees at all times during 2008 do not need to keep OSHA injury and illness records. In addition, employers classified in specific low hazard industries (e.g., retail, service, finance, insurance or real estate) do not need to keep OSHA injury or illness records.
A copy of the OSHA recordkeeping forms can be found at http://www.osha.gov/recordkeeping/new-osha300form1-1-04.pdf. If you have any questions about OSHA recordkeeping, or whether your company is an exempt employer, please contact your FBT Labor and Employment attorney.
